Distribution of educational materials to 17 educational institutions of Biswanath on behalf of Barrister Nazir Ahmed

Desk report: Educational materials have been distributed to 17 educational institutions of ‘Upazila and Municipality’ area in Biswanath, Sylhet by former Deputy Speaker of London Borough of Newham, prominent lawyer and constitution expert Barrister Nazir Ahmed.

Organised by Barrister Nazir Ahmad Foundation recently at the Ramsundar Govt Pioneer Model High School Auditorium in the Municipal City, educational materials (dais) were formally handed over to the representatives of the educational institutions.

The Chief Guest was the Examination Controller of Leading University Dr Mostak Ahmed Din. Headmaster of Ramsundar Govt Pioneer Model High School Mr Abdul Aziz presided over and Assistant Headmaster of Chandhavrang High School & College Mr Abdul Mumin Mamun conducted the event. Special Guests spoken on the occasion were: Principal of Deoklas Bilateral High School & College Mr Abdur Rahim, Headmaster of Uttar Biswanath High School Mr Prabhanshu Shekhar Talukdar, Head Teacher of Safat Ullah High School Mr Salim Jahangir, Headmaster of Satpur High School Mr Ziaul Haque, Assistant Teacher of Ekalimia High School Mr Habibur Rahman, Head Teacher of Bahara Dubag Govt Primary School Mr Karuna Kanti Das Talukdar, Headmaster of Habra Govt Primary School Mr Abdul Haque, Head Teacher of Daulatpur Govt Primary School Mrs Mahbooba Khanam and General Secretary of Biswanath Model Press Club Mr Navin Sohail.

At the beginning of the programme, a member of Biswanath Press Club Shahidur Rahman recited the Quran and Coordinator of Barrister Nazir Ahmad Foundation Writer Jayed Ali gave a welcome speech.

Barrister Nazir Ahmad has said in a message that students are the future of tomorrow. They will lead the nation in the coming days. Therefore, they should be prepared as good and qualified citizens. Last year, I visited several educational institutions during a month-long trip to Bangladesh, and I saw that there was not a good dais. There is no practice in speech and debate, nor are there any materials for practice. Therefore, the aim of my small effort is to encourage the students to become qualified leaders and good citizens of the future by engaging in various educational activities including speech and debate practice.
