British, Bengali, and Bangladeshi councilor Mohammed Islam has been appointed as the Deputy Civic Mayor of the London Borough of Croydon Council in the United Kingdom.
He was formally appointed to the position on Wednesday (14 May 2025) in the hall of the London Borough of Croydon Council in the presence of dignitaries.
The new Deputy Civic Mayor Mohammed Islam told Bangla Mirror, “I am proud to represent our borough, celebrate our diverse communities, and promote Croydon as a place of opportunity and progress.”
As a Deputy Civic Mayor, I am honoured to represent the vibrant and diverse community of Croydon with dedication and integrity.
As Deputy Civic Mayor, my priority is to uphold the values ​​of inclusion, respect and unity across Croydon.
New Deputy Civic Mayor Mohammed Islam told I am deeply honoured and grateful to have been appointed as Deputy Civic Mayor of the London Borough of Croydon.
It is a privilege for me to serve our vibrant and diverse community in this position, and I look forward to working with our Civic Mayor, fellow councillors and residents to represent and celebrate the best of Croydon.
