Women’s Violence Protest Rally Held in London
By Muhammed Shahed Rahman : A cultural protest rally was held in London against the ongoing violence against women and children in Bangladesh, initiated by the Platform Against Brutality on Women A cultural protest, rally and gathering was held at 4 pm on Monday (May 26) at the Shaheed Minar premises in Altab Ali Park, East London, under the initiative of the Platform Against Brutality on Women, led by cultural activist Munira Parveen.
Despite the afternoon drizzle, British Bangladeshis gathered at Shaheed Minar in a protest rally, where conscious citizens addressed the gathering.
In addition, the rally included recitations, songs, dances, and street plays in protest. Everyone’s voice was unanimous: “This torture, both at home and abroad, must stop immediately.”
The speakers at this rally said – If women and children are safe, that nation is called civilized. If women and children are well, that nation will be at peace, the society will be safe.
Let us unite against the ongoing violence against women and children in Bangladesh at home and abroad, protest, raise our voices, and demand justice.
